Will Improving my Soft skills Help Me Get Into the IT field?

a cartoon image depicting different soft skills you can put on your resume, including communication, time management, and writing skills

Starting in IT Field was quite challenging as an Introvert person. There are soft skills that I have to improve and develop to execute potential tech solutions and be able to communicate well with my fellow co-workers and customers in the future. I'm terrified that I won't be able to give the expectations, but I am also determined to be better. In liveaboutdotcom, it explains that "It is important for an IT professional to stay focused on the ultimate goal and continue to work toward that result". (Boyle, 2021) It inspires me to be committed to any circumstances regarding my objectives and optimize my tasks.

Adapting to any occurrence and unexpected changes means you can overcome challenges. Therefore, it is important to think of strategies and approaches accordingly. But how can I practice my flexibility toward changes? Coach Alex says, "you need to have good self-awareness, be open and trainable, work well under deadlines and pressure, and lastly, find new ways to do things." (Alex, 2021) These are beneficial to my goal of improving my soft skills. I am willing to grow in this certain field with a positive attitude.

Do App Features Help?

Nowadays, the development of apps has been engaging and convenient to society, literally the daily basis of living. If I'm trying to book a flight, I'll open the sky scanner app and check what's the cheapest they have. Sometimes I book my accommodation on Airbnb rather than finding them on the internet and searching it one by one. I can order from Uber eats or Door Dash if I'm hungry. It makes my life easier and more convenient for companies to build stronger brands and better customer connections. All of those ideas came up in Human-centered design. It is a creative approach to problem-solving that starts with people and ends with innovative solutions tailored to meet their needs. (IDEO.org, 2015)

In connection with that, Design justice as a framework recognizes the universality of design as a human activity. As the introduction notes, design means making a mark, planning, or solving problems; all human beings thus participate in creation. (Wolske, 2022) As you can see in the illustration that I have above, human-centered design is also beneficial to the healthcare industry. We have telehealth, where we can interact with our providers without going to the clinic/hospital. There are a lot of apps that can help patients and give them support. Like better help for counseling, teladoc where you can access you doctor 24/7 and mychart for scheduling, access your medications and if you have any questions to your provider.
